A hospital visit does not always end when you leave the building. International patients often need to keep documents, questions and future timelines clear across countries, languages and care teams.
Build one complete document set
Keep reports, imaging summaries, prescriptions and invoices together with their issue dates. If a document is in Chinese, note which items may need translation for the clinician who will support you at home. Keep original files safely and make working copies for sharing when appropriate.
Clarify the next clinical step with the treating team
Before travel, ask the hospital which follow-up questions should be directed to them, what timing they recommend for any next contact and how reports will be issued. China MedTrip can help organise practical communication and documents, but only the treating clinician can give medical instructions.
Prepare for your return journey
- Check whether you have all documents required for travel, insurance or your home clinician.
- Write down the contact details and department name supplied by the hospital.
- Keep a dated list of appointments, tests and documents received.
- Discuss travel fitness and medication questions directly with your treating clinician before leaving.
What a coordinator can help organise
Non-clinical support may include arranging translations, organising a document checklist, helping clarify administrative contact points and preparing practical communication for a future planned visit.
